I am looking for recommendatations for an inexpensive network link tester/detector. We run a 10baseT/100baseT Ethernet network. I am looking for a device that our techs can connect to the wall jack near the desktop to determine whether or not the jack is hot. I don’t really need to determine pin outs or cable length etc., and our techs generally do not have access to the cable closets, so the device in question can not require a terminator. We are looking for something really simple that would provide simple LED’s for LINK, PACKET, etc and maybe a 10BT/100BT indicator. Any recommendations or ideas would be greatly appreciated.
