Take a look at
What you will need to do is boot using the boot disk then set the variables (follow the prompts) to the correct disk/partition/installation. You will not be able to recover the password but you can overwrite it. I suggest that you overwrite it with a 16 character password so that you will definately overwrite all of the old administrator password.

Good Luck !!

This method doesn't always work

by Suisunian In reply to

This method only works if your registry and hives are clean. The current version will not mount read/write otherwise. The $64K question is how do you clean up the registry when you can't log into the console?

I always keep a copy of bart pe, it has a password retore
program on it. I can see the old password, or change it . I can
also make any user the default admin account. It works
good to, but only if you have another computer to download
it and burn it as a cd
