My old laptop, a dell B120, is broken. Now I put the harddisk in a usb enclosure and try to access the files but the new laptop can’t detect the harddisk. It won’t show up in Disk Manager. The hard drive was spinning and the usb slot can read a different thumb drive. Both laptops run XP.
1) the old hard disk is a MP0402h, made in 12/2005 (that’s the only date on the label.) I can’t find the interface type, but it should be IDE compatible, right?
2) the old laptop had a system password before loading XP and had passwords for user accounts. Is that the reason why it cannot be detected?
