We are using Exchange Server and Outlook 2000. Deleted items are available for recovery for up to eight days. After that they are automatically purged. However, there is a problem with my mailbox. Deleted items have remained in my Recover-Deleted Items window since the day Exchange was installed. If I try to purge them I get a message saying “unable to delete some items… Make sure you have the required permissions…” Items can be recovered, but a copy remains in that window. Next time they are deleted I will have 2 copies of the item in that window. My administrator has deleted my mailbox and set up a new one to try to solve the problem. The next time I tried deleting an item and then purging it was successful. I proceeded to change some mailbox options from the default to suit my preferences. Later that day I tried the recover/purge operation again and had the same old problem. Is this due to a setting on the server or is it related to some option I might have changed on my client? I want to be able to purge deleted items from the Recover window as desired. Help!
