I?ve been asked to help in a government project which involves restoring a drive to it?s original state from a dd image. How the images were originaly created is questionable but I have narrowed it down to the fact that they were created by booting with an old version of Red Hat on an xp pro box then using dd. Each drive was imaged to a clean drive so that now I have a raw drive with 20 images ending in .001, .002 and so forth. Each image is 2gig in size. There is also a text file as well. My delema is that I know very little about dd or linux as a whole. I?ve read articles and still do not have the answer I need. I was hoping you could point me in the right direction. Any help would be most appriciated.
