Recovering data from an hp laptop

By turborocketrabbit ·
Hey guys,
I want to put the hard drive from my hp pavillion laptop in an enclosure and connect it via usb to another laptop I have. How do I shop for an enclosure? I want to make sure I get the right enclosure.

2.5" PATA/SATA enclosure

Get yourself a 2.5" enclosure (PATA or SATA depending on the disk type). My advice would be don't scrimp on the enclosure if you'll be depending on it. I've been satisfied with Akasa enclosures so far.

figured out what I need

OK, thanks. After a little investigation I found that I will need a 2.5" IDE hard disk compatible enclosure. I found a low priced one with good reviews at, the enclosure is manufactured by Rosewell. The software included will work with windows vista, which is what I need.

Sorry, the company is Rosewill, not Rosewell.
