Recovering deleted jpg files

By jimmy-jam ·
I have a friend who lost her admin password and I need to recover it... kidding kidding.

Seriously though, I have a friend who lost some pictures on her hard drive. She says she didn't delete them but... can anyone recommend good software to try and recover these deleted images?

try DiskDigger

give DiskDigger a go, it has saved me a couple of times, you can find it at: http://dmitrybrant.com/diskdigger .

your lucky though, if it was a recovery of an admin password, you would wake up with a knife in your stomach...

Yikes!

I scanned my thumb drive out of morbid curiosity, there is stuff on there that I thought was LONG gone. Any idea how to delete these deleted files permanently?

Put it in the Microwave oven? For recovery: R-TT R-studio or Convar

by robo_dev In reply to Yikes!

but seriously....

there are many 'shredder' utilities that over-write 0/1 to delete data to military standards.

http://www.diskwipe.org/

For undelete, two good tools are:

Convar disk recovery:

R-Studio (very very powerful):

This tool is best used by adding the drive as a Slave to the Recovery System.

Recuva - File Recovery

You could try using DiskPart to clean the drive.
