recovering files after a hacker attack

By dluesse3 ·
hacker overtook a customers computer and apparently didn't respond well to microsofts updates. therefore corrupting multiple dll's after the customer called microsoft on it the dll issue was "resolved" now it seems the system is falling apart and further corrupting so in a last ditch effort I am trying to reclaim files tedious as it may be I am now caught in the endless restart loop (and the drive is not recognized by other systems)please get me out

Does this hard drive have other partition or space left? if yes, then you should just install other fresh copy of xp to a different partition or different directory like "winxp". then copy all the data you need.
after that just reformat the harddrive do it over again.

install the harddisk as a slave in another machine with w2k or xp installed.
do take precations that the other system has update antivirus.
as long as you can see the data from the slave you can then copy the data to the primary disk.
Else the filesystem on the primary disk is screwed.

ah I already tried both and the darn thing wont keep running long enough to copy the data
it just locks up no matter the size of the transfer
