Recovering Outlook Emails from a now External Hard Drive

By phorluk ·
Hello, Windows crashed after a power surge. Now I want to format the drive and re-install windows. However, there are a lot of valuable emails on the drive which I would like to save. I have the hard drive in an external HD enclosure and connected to my laptop; so now I can browse through all the files.

Is there a way to copy the outlook emails to another hard drive (my laptop) for temporary storage until I have re-installed windows. At which time I hope to copy the emails back to the original drive and re-open them in windows?

All help is much appreciated.

has anybody responded to this post--I am faced with similar conditions and would like to know how to retrireve emails messages from external hard drive. I have problem w/ d/c connection on laptop and am only unable to access because I am unable to re-power up the laptop. In my case, motherboard is still in tact.
