Recovery console - how to create a Boot CD with RC on it?

By Goldenbarstewart ·
I recently ran into a proble, where a manufacturer's dedicated version of Vista home Premium to a Laptop created a corrupt Hard Drive. I needed to remove the partitions the software had created and had to go back to the startup floppy I made for Windows 98 in order to access fdisk. Is there a way to create a CD with the recovery console programs on it, and thus not have to use the Windows CD?

You can build a nice utility disk for Windows. As part of the startup window you can go to the UBCD for Win startup or directly to the Recovery Console. Here is a link.

Thanks bwilmot for taking the time to point me in this direction. The download is a large one - I will have to wait until I am in the vicinity of a high speed connection since we are only on dial-up here (hi-speed not available.) Regards.
