While starting windows 98 I get a error that explorer has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down.
When I examine details I’m told explorer caused an invalid page fault in module explorer.exe at
015f:00401f31
The computer them locks up and will not continue to load windows
If I try to load windows in the safe mode the error repeats itself exactly, but will not load windows.
I would like to find a way to reinstall windows without losing the installed programs. I havetried reinstalling windows but as long as I keep the old applications, the error stays the same.
I am open to discussions from people who might have solved this problem.
