recovery of deleted email from a deleted profile

By deletedemailanswer ·
Ok this situation may be a bit complicated. I am trying to get back all of my old email. The email was permanently deleted for the entire profile. Then that profile was deleted in order to start my new email address. I then realized I had a need for all of my old emails. I researched quite a bit and figured out how to corrupt and then restore the pst file. I did so but the pst that exists now is for the email account I just created today. Is there a way to recover the emails from the profile I removed?

I appreciate your help so very much!!

When you think about the word "delete" its not really deleted, its just flagged as free space. So if that space has not been written to you might be able to get it back. Google undelete, and you will get a whole mess of programs that say they undelete stuff... Off hand I do not know what really works and doesn't work.. tried http://www.active-undelete.com/ which did work a little... it might work for you... Or someone might post up with another program that worked for them. Good luck.

undelete profile?

by deletedemailanswer In reply to recovery of deleted email ...

tried that already...undelete and such won't work. i think what i'd need to know is how to recover an outlook profile and whether or not that profile would still be attached to the original pst. if i can figure out how to do that, i think i've figured out how to get the files back.

any ideas?

recover data that has been flagged as free space

by morne.pretorius88 In reply to recovery of deleted email ...

I had the same situation when one of my coworkers got confused when reloading a clients pc during the manual backup(copying files to the external disk). I used "GetDataBack NTFS".If the drive is formatted to NTFS use this. If it is formatted fat32 then use "GetDataBack fat32". It worked for me so you can try it. Just remember to recover to another drive cause if you recover to the drive your trying to recover it could overwrite segments of the data your trying to recover causing it to corrupt. Also avoid installing programs or placing more data on that drive. if your using microsoft office and trying to recover a .pst then run the scanpst application before attaching it to your new mailbox.

While not the easiest thing to do there is one important thing

by OH Smeg In reply to recovery of deleted email ...

That needs to be done immediately. Remove this HDD form the Computer and Stop Using it Immediately.

The more that you use it the more likely you are to overwrite the Data and the harder or more expensive it will be to recover the data.

If this Data is Important as apposed to mealy Nice to have back then you should entrust the recovery to a Professional Data Recovery House that can perform Forensic Recoveries.

However if it would just be Nice to have back you can attack this drive while it is mounted in an External Enclosure with either X Ways Forensic Integrated Computer Forensics Software from X Ways which is available from here

On Tracks option available for here

http://www.ontrackdatarecovery.com/email-recovery-software/

Out of the two the X Ways product would be the better option with the better chance but you need to know what you are doing and you should expect to ruin any installed OS on this HDD that you need to recover Data from.

I'm by no means a IT person. Just a sales girl with a small penchant for minor computer issues. I think I'll let bygones be bygones and just learn to stop and think before I go deleting things. Ruining OS and corrupting drives is way out of my league!

Thanks for all of your help on this.

Best Email recovery tips

by hughdawson516 In reply to recovery of deleted email ...

If you would really like to recover you lost emails from you deleted profile then stop using the Outlook right away and avoid compacting the PST file and avoid using the Outlook further.
The best email recovery software supports recovery of all you lost emails, deleted outlook accounts or profiles, embedded HTML mails, attachments, and even password protected .pst files and encrypted .pst files. Choose software which does only read operation, so that new data will be written on the existing PST file.
