"recycle bin" icon on desktop

By jsnowbunny100 ·
The "recycle bin" icon is missing from my desktop. No other icons are missing. The "Show Desktop Icons" tab is checked.

How do I add the recycle bin icon to my desktop?

Thanks

instead of manually adding registry entries you can download this reg file and it will do it for you.

Be sure that no third party registry tool is installed in your computer like poledit, etc. If you are sure then use regedit and go to

[hkey_local_machine\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\explorer
\desktop\namespace]

And a new key:
{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}

Add a string value within the Key; name it as (Default)
and Value Data as Recycle Bin
