ref: Window 98 file winoldap

By cvanvolk ·
A system hangs up after reaching the desktop. After ctrl-alt-del, and ending task on this file (winoldap), the system frees itself and it is possible to work on it. But upon restarting the system the problem will reaccur. Is there a solution, mustthis file be edited?

That's not something that needs to load at startup. Do Start, Run, type msconfig and hit OK. Go to the startup tab, find it and uncheck it.

Winoldap is the name Windows gives to some old 16-bit dos programs. You will need to track down the DOS program that starts at boot-time and uncheck in msconfig.
