Ran a surface scan on Compaq Deskpro this morning b’cse it was having startup problems; it found 17 bad sectors (in addition to 3 already there). The PC does not have a CD-ROM. Would like to try re-formatting the HD but would like to know if anyone has successfully copied entire HD data out and then back again after formatting? I do not have Windows diskettes to reinstall the OS. Maybe a ghosting program? Thanks!
