Refresh File Explorer with F5?

In former times in Windows 7 users can press F5 to refresh the current state of Windows Explorer.

When I try to do the same now in Windows 10 File Explorer then from the right side a pane appears instead.

How can I change the meaning of F5?

I would like to keep the F5-refresh association.

Now if Windows has been modified or infected, all bets are off.

What’s changed since you installed Windows 10? Is it the same computer? Keyboard? If it has the Function modifiers (Fn key next to Ctrl), try the Fn+F5 combination.

You can still use the F5 button to refresh your windows explorer in Windows 10.
Fn + F5 key will help you to perform the function of F5 alone. If you want to use
only the F5 button alone for refresh purposes then change it BIOS setting.
