Refresh File Explorer with F5?

By sunildev593 ·

In former times in Windows 7 users can press F5 to refresh the current state of Windows Explorer.

When I try to do the same now in Windows 10 File Explorer then from the right side a pane appears instead.

How can I change the meaning of F5?

I would like to keep the F5-refresh association.

What's changed since you installed Windows 10? Is it the same computer? Keyboard? If it has the Function modifiers (Fn key next to Ctrl), try the Fn+F5 combination.

Fn + F5

You can still use the F5 button to refresh your windows explorer in Windows 10.
Fn + F5 key will help you to perform the function of F5 alone. If you want to use
only the F5 button alone for refresh purposes then change it BIOS setting.
