Registry Corrupted, Keyboard Problem, Cannot Login to windows to restore

by arevoir . Updated 19 years ago

Hi,

Ok this is the situation.

I have a computer with the whole registry exchanged with that from another pc.
So now, the keyboard no longer works once Windows load. I cannot login during the logon screen. So I cannot restore back the backup registry….

I have tried to do a recovery process from XP CD (and pressing R when loaded). But got stuck at the administrator password.

I have tried using EBCD to blank out the administrator password. But when in recovery Console, the system still asked for the password…

I also tried Bart PE, and used its regedit to import back the old registry. But I received error saying that the registry cannot be accessed.

My question is…
Anyone got any solution on how to restore the whole old-registry back… OR
Got any idea how to get the keyboard to work when XP loads (some regedit hack or tweak in Bart PE?)

Thank you !
