registry editing batch file on login

I am trying to add an entry into our login batch file that will create a registry entry when a user with basic rights logs into our network.

I have managed to get it to work except the fact that it says that they can’t access the registry.

The error seems to indicate that the registry is in use.

Any help would be nice. I have several registry edits I need to insert once I figure out how to automate it via log in.

  I don’t see how it would be possible since a user with ‘basic rights’ does not have Write permissions to the Registry, therefore the error you are getting.

  Knowing a few things may be of some help:
  
  1. What’s the error?
  2. What’s the OS?
  
  “…a user with basic rights…”
  Verify that such a user has the right to modify the registry.
