Registry entry of Terminal Server

By sphynx ·
Hello,
I need help badly. For some reason i lost the licensed number of the terminal server. Now i need to upgrade the windows 2000 to a new machine but i can't do it because i don't have the licensed number.

Can somebody tell me where in the windowss 2000 registry resides the licensed or productid of the terminal server?

Thanks in advance.

You didn't say the reason, but if you lost your key and just need it to repair or reinstall then I have an answer for you. On the cd, in the i386 directory there is a file named "setupp.ini" There is a line the starts off with "pid=" followed by a series of #'s. Change the last 3 numbers to "270" and it will not ask for a cd-key. You need to remove read-only attribute before you can modify. You will also have to copy the i386 folder to your harddrive or re-burn a copy with the altered file in place.

I need to shutdown the server that server and install it to another machine. I think your suggestion will work only if you reinstall it on the same box.
