I have a Dell Latitude CPx laptop running Win NT SP5. I’m trying to use a Kensington Expert Mouse Pro while the laptop is docked to it’s Latitude C/Dock II (Kensington mouse plugged into the dock PS/2 port), and the laptop’s Alps touchpad, when notdocked. After much work and talking repeatedly to Kensington, Alps and Dell, I have progressed to the point that I can get both mice to work, but I can’t get both mice control panels to work. If I get the Windows mouse control panel showing the touch pad while undocked, the Kensington mouse control panel shows a regular 4-button mouse when docked. If I get the Kensington mouse control panel working correctly when docked, the Windows mouse control panel shows a 2-button mouse (instead of the touchpad) when undocked. The problem seems to be that each mouse installation wants to install a different keyboard and PS/2 port driver. Since the docked and undocked modes are using different hardware profiles, I think it should be possible to get the docked profile to load the Kensington drivers and point to the correct keyboard and PS/2 port driver and get the undocked profile to do the same for the Touchpad. However I’m not familiar enough with the registry settings involved to get this to work. Can anyone help me out?
thanks
