Registry setting for printer

By sidvail ·
Is there a way to use the registry to change the default setting for a printers font size? I have a Point of Sale system that has no way to change the print settings when reports and orders are made. The font is too small to read for some, and too small to use when faxing.

Thank you.

Maybe you could try changing the Default Datatype for the printer on the Windows machine.
Go to Properties of the printer your POS uses.
On the General tab, click the Print Processor button.
In the Default Datatype section, change it from RAW (thedefault) to one of the other settings. Try them all and see if there is any improvement.
It is easier to change this here then in the registry.

hope this helps

Certain software manufacturers place their font settings in the registry under Hkey_Current_User\Software\<your_POS_sofware>
You would have to contact them regarding those settings.

Additionally, more modern printers allow you to increase font size directly on the printer itself.
