Regularly review your DR plan

We are in the early stages of a complete overhaul of our DR plan. Throughout the past year or so we have implemented so many software changes that an update of our recovery plan had to be done. In addition to the IT aspect of the DR plan, we are including Worldwide operations; which requires a re-visit to our SLA's with our Recovery service providers. In the past, we have done updates/audits to the plan on a quarterly basis - I would have to say that yearly, for most organizations with more than one location, would not be adequate. A good, working plan is the result of taking your organization apart piece by piece and putting it under a microscope, after which, continuous testing and maintenance ensure that it will continue to ensure business survivability.
