Reimage Operating System

By JimInNM ·
There is a program named Reimage that scans your PC online and finds all system files that are not original or correct. This is so unique, why doesn't Microsoft do it as an update service and eliminate so many basic problems users have?? This would really improve their image and probably sales also, not to mention hacker copies of illegal products

Beware: Reimage a scam's "ScareWare"

by robo_dev In reply to Reimage Operating System

When I search for it in Google, my Web of Trust indicator goes all red, and there are LOTS of reports that is a scam site.

"reimage is a rogue software application that exagerates its "findings" to scare the user into purchasing full product and/or "PC repair packs" for $65"

Windows System File Checker (SFC) does the same thing, and it's free...and you're not sending your registry file to a company in Israel.

Read the reviews that say:

"Don't Bother, SCAM"
"A really terrible program, stay away or get burned"

and this blog post:

This is because while M$ is terrible not even they are at the level of the Scampers.

What you are looking at is not valid Software to do a job and keep the End User Happy it's sole purpose is to extract funds from the Unwary for the benefit of another.

Things like this make the person who sells them very rich in a very short time with no benefit to the computer owner. Unless of course you see it as a benefit having a lighter Wallet.

Thanks Guys

Thanks to Robo_Dev and OH Smeg for the alert. I thought the price was a bit steep so I didn't swallow hook line and sinker. Too bad though, it is a terrific idea and M$ to my knowledge doesn't advertise the SFC option. Thanks again for the advise and I will now try SFC.
