reimaging

HELP !!!!!!!!!!

i'm reimaging a friends pc, It does the normal installation of the drvers but when the choice to repair or install new os appears the machine powers down.

Can anyone help me please.

Do you get any errors at all?

You will have to post a little bit more of your situation here. We are not mind readers.
So please give some more info on what you are doing or trying to do.
Is this a laptop or tower?.

Its a tower bouught from a catalogue.
Manufacturer is LG
Motherboard is a foxconn 661m03-g
processor is a intel celeron
Im reimaging the Hard Drive (IDE) with a copy of windows xp home edition.
The setup loads the drivers but when the option screen for installing the os appears the machine powers down completly.

"Machine powers down completly ", this is usually caused by heat.

Check your power supply, fans and memory.
How old is the system, and can you give any more specs?.

check RAM

1)check the RAM or replacing new RAM
2)format the hdd and load os
