reinstall of AOL software

I have been trying to unistall and reinstall AOL software and I keep getting the following message when I try to reinstall

There is a problem with the aol file that contains your aol access phone number information. Your access phone numbers and modem settings will have to be selected again.

What did AOL say when you called their tech support?

What operating system are you using?

I am using Windows XP home edition. I have not gotten through to their tech yet.

When you uninstalled AOL I assume you went through the “Add/Remove” programs in Control Panel. If you had a prior version you would have to uninstall that also, if not, look in your directories for any instance of AOL and delete those directories also, then try to reinstall.

I would suggest not installing AOL at all. What is it…almost $25 a month??? There are alot cheaper dialup ISPs out there….for what you are paying AOL you could get DSL.

This message appears simply because yo did not complete the setup of your version of AOL. Please post any other error messages that you may have received during the setup of aol.
