Reinstalling ODBC drivers

By zlitocook ·
I have a couple of computers that I can not run a few programs on because of ether corrupt odbc drivers or older drivers mixed with new drivers. On one I can not add new drivers because it says driver not found or invalid driver. I am tring to add an access driver.

It's a 95 work station and I ran dcom and mdac on both with no effect. Also did a reinstall on both. Both have all service packs and MS KB is no help.

You have two options in a case like this:
1. Wipe the computer and start clean
2. Upgrade to Win 98

Also make sure you are working with version B of 95.

I found a program from MS called component checker it is mainly used for MDAC but also finds ODBC currupt files and DLLS and allows you to uninstall and reinstall newer files. it' called cc.exe you also have to have the new MDAC program to use it right.
