I’ve been trying to reinstall XP to my PC for the last 2 weeks, It was crashed when a 3 year press a key while the pc was booting up. I’ve re-formatted the harddrive several time, and since it’s a 80gig drive, I have to partition it, with 98 on the smaller drive. I’m doing the same thing as when I install xp the first time, Only this time during the install of XP when it gets to starting window , there are options to continue, repair or quit; before I can enter anything my PC powers down. I tried install as upgrade and new install, I still get same results.
I even reinstall XP on a different PC to make sure and software was good, and the install went perfect. I do get a harddrive sector message everytime I boot up I reply Y to continue, ran scan and it came up clean,, I’m trying to not to but another hard drive if I can help it..
any ideas?
