I recently experienced alot of problems with a Dell purchased in 3/07..I was on with a Dell rep for 2 weeks and she couldn’t resolve the problems. Last week I was on again and was told I needed to start fresh-check everything and clean the hard drive, reinstall windows xp etc..he walked me through most of it, but failed to tell me how to get my Office components back up and running..I don’t have Word, Powerpoint, Excel etc.. all this was because of a runtime error I was having with Visual C++–after all of the cleaning, reformatting, etc., I am still getting the error and can’t update any programs..before I go completely MAD,can someone tell me what I need to do? besides throw this Dell out for the trash??
