Remore desktop Connection problem

By phdj2000 ·
Hi,
I've got a problem with my reomte desktop connection. I can log into other pc's in the office and use remore desktop connection to connect to other pc's including my own.
When I log into my own pc and try to connect remotely to another one I aleays get the message
"The local policy of this system does not permit you to log on interactively."
There must be something wrong with the settigns on my machine but I can't work out what.

As this doesn't affect you when you log onto other PC's, I suspect that there might be a group policy in place on your PC.

Change the permissions on the c:\winnt\system32\GroupPolicy folder and deny yourself read access.

This will then make sure that the group policy is not applied against your login.

Then try and use the remote desktop. If it works, you know there is a Group Policy in place on your PC which is restricting remote desktop.

you can also try resetting the security permissions back to the default.

1. Open a CMD prompt.

2. Type:

secedit /configure /cfg %windir%\repair\secsetup.inf /db secsetup.sdb /verbose

3. If you receive a warning message, it can be ignored. See the %windir%\Security\Logs\Scesrv.log file.
