remote access

By david_grant ·
I have a novell server serving 7 windows 98/2000 machines. The server is connected to a cable modem which allows all 7 clients in the office to access the internet. I also have cable modem on my home computer and would like to be able to access mycomputer(s) at the office from my house without having to use PCanywhere. I've been told that a connection can easily be established since both sides have a permanent internet connection. How can I configure this?

Setting up a VPN is a good way, but there is also a program like PCanywhere that allows you to connect to your office computer also, but from any computer you happen to be at. Just like going to hotmail. Unlike pcanywhere there is no blowing holes inyour firewall and no special software on the client computer and it is crossplatform. Its also very simple to set up with a 30 day free trail.

If this is more of what your looking for, you can find it at expertcity.com. The program is Go to my PC. Which I could help you more on the VPN, but if nothing else thought you might like to look this other site over.

Good luck
Greg

Sorry, I should have mentioned this earlier. You can try this program for 30 days free, just another toy in your arsenal.
