I have a remote computer that I am setting up to access a server. I have had installed a cable modem at both locations for high speed access. I am running an application that uses Btrieve Dos Requestor (which is part of Pervasive SQL server). My delimma is trying to decide the BEST way to connect. I have an small existing LAN on the server side, and have purchased a SOHO router which uses NAT. I have thought that I would connect the router to the existing LAN, and then connect to the server, which will be behind the firewall, via the remote workstation. Does this sound like a VPN scenario? or does anyone have a better suggestion. The program I need to remotly access is DOS based, and I have had better luck running it not using TCP/IP as the protocol, IPX or NETBEUI works the best. Thanks for any comments..
