Remote Access Connection Manager service

By john ·
I just installed Windows 2000 on my computer and now when I try to set the Dial-Up internet it doesn't allow me. If I try to set it up manually through internet options I get an Error that says: "Cannot load the Remote Access Connection Manager service - Error 1060: The specified service does not exist as an installed service." Any help would be appreciated.

Your Remote Access Connection Service might be disabled. Try this: Go to Start|Settings|Control Panel|Administrative Tools. Open Services and find the Remote Access Connection Manager Service(try to expand the column so you can see the full Name of the items)Highlight it and right click, select start. Then try to set up your Internet connection again.

Hope this helps...:0)

The Remote Access Connection Manager Service is not listed. I don't think it is installed.

In addition, if you cant find the Remote Access Connection Manager service in the item lists, try installing it by going to Start|Settings|Network and Dial-up Connections. Right click Local Area Connection and select Properties click Install, select Service and click Add. You will need your original Windows installation disk for this. Just follow through the wizard and try to locate the said service.

Good Luck

Have install the latest service pack for 2000. I think sp2 fixes that problem.
