Remote Access of Win 2000 Pro client

By hlovell ·
How do I set up a W2K Pro client for remote access through Terminal Service on my WinXP computer. I administer a Win 2000 server domain and have a few W2K Pro clients I would like to remotely manage.

As far as I understand it, you can install the remote desktop client on the pc you want to manage. It is fairly staight forward and comes installed on XP. It will bypass terminal server and make a direct connect in the same fashion as term serv. The client needs to be config'd to accept incoming connections.

Thanks

If your trying to remote from the xp to the win2k client . you wont be able to do it with Remote Desktop. What youll have to do is get a third party prg like VNC

Terminal Services (or Remote Desktop) cannot be used to remotely administer Win2K Pro computers. You must use a third-party tool as is suggested in Answer 2.
