Remote access problems

By jlichtefeld ·
On our Exchange Server, all users that are remote, cannot get e-mail through their Outlook as before. All e-mail is accessable internally and through the browser, but will not POP. All protocals and clients look to be intack.

Help!

Remote access problems

by McKayTech In reply to Remote access problems

You shouldn't be using POP3 for Outlook to communicate with Exchange, even for remote access.
The two supported methods that work reliably are to either use Outlook Web Access where the remote users connect to an IIS box that then serves up theire-mail, or establish a remote session through RAS or a VPN connection and then connect to Exchange through Outlook just as you would on the internal network.

When you say "as before" - do you mean before they were remote?

regards!

1)Choose services from the Tools menu
2) Select the Internet e-mail service from the list of services and then click properties
3)Select the appropiate connection box
4) Clear the Leave A Copy Of Messages On Server check box on the Advanced Tab
Click OK twice
Close and Restart Outlook
