I have a customer that by all indications is infected by a RAT. I’ve whitnessed the culprit as they’ve tried to open files and view the hard drive contents.
This computer is protected by Trend Micro’s Security Suite. I’ve scanned the drive with AVG, Kaperski’s on-line AV scan, HiJackThis. I’ve installed a port monitor and even scanned the drive with RAT specific software. All come to the same conclusion, Nothing. Not even a tracking cookie.
My next step is to format and reinstall XP Pro, but before I do that I’d like some feedback.
Has anyone else out there run across anything similar?
