Remote access using XP

By EPAIT ·
HI,

When I remotely access ausers PC via XP remote connection on a Win2k Terminal server enviroment. I can log in as the administrator, but when I go to leave the PC ...I only have the option of "disconnect" on the Start button. If i disconnet this leaves the users PC locked by the administrator. I hva e to unlock it or they have to rebbot without doing it via windows.. I have chcked the properties on remote access. I use remote assitance and it will let me reboot or , log off or shut down the remote PC but I have to be invited. some things I do after hours without the user available so I would like to be able to logoff, shutdown or reboot the work station while in remote access. I can access my win 2k servers remotely and do see this options.

thanks,
Rob

Hi
I had a similar problem so I created a simple password(open) for the user accounts. when the admin logs out the users have an icon to log on with.
Hope this helps

I figured this out if you are using remote desktop in XP. Go to the run command when you ready to exit the PC and type in logoff.exe. Logged me off as administrator and the PC was then ready for the user to access. You probably could use the EXE for reboot or shutdown but have not try that.

I am now configuring uninvited remote assitance for users that need assitance while logged on. Make sure you set the GroupPolicy for this on the local PCs MS article 301527.

Hope this helps anyone with the same problem.
