Remote administration purposes

By Mikael310 ·
Given a user can't or isn't available to find his/her PC name for me. For instance, in a helpdesk situation, a user submits a trouble ticket saying his PC is 'broken'. If I know his username, how can I find out the computername (not the DC) which he is logged into?

Have the person check the computer name by going into the control panel -- system -- computer name.

SMS reports will allow you (so long as the computer is part of the SMS group) to look up computers for such-and-such user.

Try Technical Q&A forum.

This is a tech. problem, in search of a solution.

It properly belongs in "Technical Q&A," not in "Discussions." There you will be more likely to get the attention of those seeking questions that they might answer.

You should re-post there.

Thank you.
