Remote Cisco ASA VPN connection from within a Cisco ASA Firewall network

by schnabe . Updated 17 years, 4 months ago

I have a Cisco ASA5505 set-up as our company’s firewall and VPN router. Everything works fine. People can access the internet, and remote users can connect to internal network resources via VPN using the Cisco VPN Client.

I then installed a second ASA 5505 at a client’s site so we could VPN into their internal network. I copied the configuration from our ASA (with exception to IP addressing). When I try to VPN into this new ASA, I can connect fine, but cannot access nor ping any internal devices.

Now, if I connect at home to our client’s site, or use my phone tethered to my PC, I can connect and access internal devices at our client’s site.

It seems that something in our company’s ASA is blocking VPN traffic, but the wierd thing is I can connect and authenticate to the remote ASA at our client’s site.
Does anyone have any tips??

Thanks,

Steve
