Remote contol software

By patb071 ·
We are currently using altiris deployment solution for remote controlling our machines. However ever since Symentec bought Altiris, we have issues connecting to random machines. After a reboot it seems to work a bit better. Our network consists of thin-clients running windows Ce, Windows Xp machines, and a few Vista Machines. We are looking for a remote control feature that allows us to view the users screen (currently using windows remote assistants as alternate solution), and also need intenvory software. Does anyone have any other Products that they would recommend?

script....

Here is a link that has a script to list the current installed programs on a machine: http://www.thescriptlibrary.com/Default.asp?Action=Display&Level=Category3&ScriptLanguage=VBScript&Category1=Applications&Category2=User&Title=List%20Installed%20Software
not really sure if it works or not, I have not tested it out. With a batchfile + the script + sysinternals pstools you should be able to run it remotely, and have the script generated .txt then copy it to a remote share... sounds more complicated than it really is...

As far as viewing a users desktop remotely, there is VNC(couple different versions) or expensive software...
