Remote Control Software

By pete.g ·
I'm a home user and "Admin" of my family's six machines running Win XP Home. As we travel a lot, I was wondering what FREEWARE options I have for connecting to remote systems across the internet and hardware firewalls, primarily for maintenance and support. I have found the VNC or its variants are best for remote control within the network (behind the firewall). What free services would you recommend for accessing systems behind firewalls?

PC Anywhere is still my alltime favorite

but if you are looking for something that works from a web browser, you will need something else like Webex.

Haven't used it, but it's a free service similar to gotomypc. If you want to have more control or not use a service, you might try looking at EchoVNC.
