Remote Control user sessions in 2008 Terminal Server

by jason_k . Updated 15 years, 10 months ago

Here’s hoping an expert may be able to help me with this one…

Recently, we have installed a new ESXi server, hosting SBS08 and an 08 Terminal Server.
When trying to interact with a users session on the Terminal Server (Remote Control users session), the client receives the error “Your remote desktop session has ended, possibly for one of the following reasons:
The administrator has ended the session
An error occurred while the connection was being established
A network problem occurred”

In the event viewer on the server, I see the error appear:
Event ID 50
“The RDP protocol component “DATA ENCRYPTION” detected an error in the protocol stream and has disconnected the client.”

Now I have narrowed it down to be isolated to clients running Windows 7. If EITHER the session to be controlled, OR the session to do the controlling is initiated by a windows 7 machine, the error appears. If using Windows XP, it works fine.

Please help…it is getting very difficult to do any remote training with end users.

Kind Regards,
Jason
