Remote Desktop

I am getting an error message "cannot read from source file or disk. When trying to copy and paste files from the remote desktop to the local. The remote machine is a windows 2003 terminal server and the client machine is a windows 2003 machine

There are any number of things that can cause this. 2003 has a lot of security settings that can prevent data from being opened by unauthorised people so it could be a Security Setting. That would be my first guess but without knowing what it is you are trying to copy & paste it's just about impossible to give you a better answer.

you need to install the File Copy Tool which is included with the Windows 2003 Resource Kit.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for your replies, I ended working out what ws wrong, all it was, was that under Terminal Services Configuration->Connections
->RDP-Tcp->Properties, the option "disable drive mapping" was enabled.
