Remote Desktop

By paulbelliard ·
I have been trying to remote into my laptop from my internal LAN. I know I have it setup correctly on the LAN, because I am able to remote into other Windows XP pc's on my network. When I try to remote into my laptop I get the error: the local policy of the system does not permit interactive login. I have looked into several articles on the solution but not have gotten anywere. Anybody have any ideas?

On the laptop right click My Computer, select Properties, hit the Remote tab and tick the box which says Allow users to connect remotely.

Remote Desktop

Remote Desktop is enabled on my laptop for other users to gain access to it. I am able to get to the login prompt of my laptop when I run remote desktop. I run into a problem when I try to login to the laptop with my username and password. I get 'the local policy of the system does not permit interactive logins'.

The local user accounts on your laptop should contain a group called Remote Desktop Users or something similar. See if your account is listed in that group.

try run the command prompt in the laptop and input "gpuupdate /force" to reset the group policy to its default setting

** use it on your own responsibility if u have customized your own GP.

Or try to use 3rd party software like Ultra VNC
