Remote Desktop and Terminal Server

By luv2bike2 ·
I have a user in another location that can log into my Terminal Server, after
she logs out of the TS and than tries to go back in she can not. The IT person has to recreate her profile on her PC and than she is able to click on Remote Desktop and get back into my TS. TS. This is a big pain in the butt. The IT
person has also recreate the user in AD and still the problem exist. I have
renamed the users profile on the TS to see if that does anything, however I
believe the problem is on the users end. I have been told that if someone
else logs into the PC and than logs into the TS they are fine, no problems.
its just this user. the IT person has replaced the user PC as well, but
still has the problem. When the IT person recreates the users profile on the PC he does NOT copy over the NTUSER.dat file so I do not know what the problem
is.
The PC is Windows XP, their server is Windows 2003 and my TS is Windows 2003
as well. she is the only user that is having this problem.

Any assistance will be greatly appreciated!

do any of the other remote users use remote desktop for remote access then try to access the terminal server? or do they use another method or remote access to gain access to ther terminal server?

If others don't have a problem and use the same method, user initiated problem.

Can I ask, what error message she receives? Like can she get to the Terminal Server's login screen?
Has she been setup for roaming profiles? Maybe when you delete the profile on her machine, when she logs back in, the desktop pulls her roaming profile from the server which has the problem and just re-creates her issue again.
How about giving her a different username, and try it this way, just to see if she is doing something really weird. I haven't come across this problem where it is profile related.

Regards,
Jim

I simply open the TS manager and reset the user's session and the problem goes away.

we do not use Roaming Profiles. When the user clicks on Remote Desktop sometimes it just hangs, more often than getting the error message saying that can not connect to the server at this time. she does not get a chance to log in when she gets that error message.

There are 3 other users in that office that use RD and they have no problems when they use RD from their workstation and no problems when and if they log in on he workstation that the user who is having this problem.

It is a weird situation and it bothersome since I am in a different state and can not see what is actually happening.

thanks for you suggestions!
