    Remote Desktop Disconnected

    Locked

    by jsarinana ·

From my Windows 2000 server when I try to connect to any of my Window 2000 Servers they work just fine. When I try to connect to any Windows 2000 Prof. computers I get the following error listed below. These 2000 Prof. computers are all SP4 and have Remore Desktop Connection Client Installed. I have no prolem with my XP Prof. clients it’s just on 2000 clients:
“remote connections might not be enabled or the computer might be too busy to accept new connections. It is also possable that network prolems are preventing your connection”

If I get on a Windows 2000 Prof. computer and try to connect to other Windows 2000 Prof. computer it works fine ? ? ?

Thanks, I’ll just use VNC. When I go to M.S. I find a download to allow XP to Windows 2000 Prof. I thought it would allow me to remote to Windows 2000 Prof. from servers and Prof. At least that is what the site explains you can do.

Win2k Pro does not have remote capabilities built in. Win2k server and XP pro have this capability. XP has a limit of 1 and win2k server in admin mode has 3.

The only thing I can thnk of is to use SMS (systems management server), but it would be cheaper to put XP pro on the box. If you are not fond of VNC you could look for a third party solution, there are lots out there.

      Thanks TJ

Anyone know what I can install to have a remote connection on a Win2k workstation ? I use VNC and have been using it for years. I would like to use a M.S. solution, like Remote Desktop connection. Any suggestions.
