Remote Desktop Logoff, Keep Session Alive

By techdept ·
I run a number of thin client workstations that have multiple users and would like to be able to keep a rd session alive, even when a user logs off. (I would like windows to simply return to the logon screen of the remote computer when a user logs off. Anyone have a solution for this?

When a user "logs off' it will take them to a log on screen at the next connection. When the click the X to close RDP it will leave a session hanging. Put a GPO on the OU that contains your terminal servers that sets the idle session limit at however many minutes you deem appropriate. This will log them off automatically when the session limit is reached. These setting can be found under Computer Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> Windows Components -> Terminal Services -> Sessions.
