There are a couple of options you can use to reach the same functionality. The first and most obvious is to install the terminal services client which is located at %windir%\system32\clients\tsclient on a Windows 2000 server in either remote administration mode or in application mode. Secondly (not a very good option though)you can install IIS on your local machine and then download the Terminal Services Web Client and place it on your webroot.

You can use that, or use NetMeeting with Remote Desktop Sharing turned on (already in W2K).

If you are wondering if the same Remote Desktop client that comes with XP can be used on 2000, the answr is yes. From a Windows XP box, copy the floowing files from the windows\system32 directory to the Windows 2000 computer.

mstsc.exe
mstscax.dll

Those two file will give you the Remote Desktop program that comes with XP, but on a 2000 box.

Additionally, MS has released the Remote Desktop Client that will work on 95 and up. Here is the link for the download.

You can also use vnc or dameware. Both are decent for remote desktop.
