I work for a slightly larger than normal company. We have approximately 50 remote users on the North Slope of Alaska, and many others spread out through this large state. They have to talk to the world through satellite due to the fact that they haven’t yet ran a 1000 mile line from the slope to the rest of us.
For obvious reasons they are not on our main network and have difficulty using VPN to connect to us. But we must still support them, and in doing this we are occasionally required to remote desktop into their computer to get things fixed.
Does any one have any suggestions for setting up a server/URL that they can connect to download a piece of software that allows us to tap into them and grab a hold of their desktop and work with it remotely.
We are aware of Remote Desktop and WebEx. We would like to have an application that we control and use our own server to manage/push from without making our users go 3000 miles out of the way just to come back up to us on the same pipe to Alaska.
Any suggestions would be most helpful.
