Hi,
Can anyone offer any suggestions to this problem please, we have 12 servers, remote desktop will work on 11 of them, we had a problem a few weeks ago where by the server in question needed a reboot, i beleive another administrator played about with the ip address aswell, this is now all back to normal but remote desktop will not work. What i have done so far: system properties and enabled remote desktop, added relevant admins and users and checked the permissions are ok, confirmed ip address of server, can ping ip and host name from all other servers and my pc. Run netstat and cannot see port 3389 listening, neither can i telnet “ip/hostname” 3389 to the server. I have attemted to restart the service but discovered that it cant be restarted. the server has been reboot several times. I found a reg hack that says to change the value of HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Terminal Server to 0, but it is already 0. There are no windows firewalls active. The fact that i can remote onto all other servers suggests to me that it is a problem on the server itself. If any one can shed some light on the problem for me i would be very greatfull.
Thanks.
Sam
