Remote Procedure Call

by cbocciolatt . Updated 18 years, 9 months ago

When I logged onto my server this morning, I received this error message:
“Data Execution Prevention – Microsoft Windows.
To help protect your computer, Windows has closed this program.
Name: Remote Procedure Call host Executable. Publisher: Network Associates, Inc.”
It then gave me options to either change settings or close. I didn’t touch the settings, but I know I can find them in the Control Panel under System – Advanced Tab – Performance. I chose the close option then an error came up saying it had to close the RPC host executable. I checked the RPC services and saw that it is still started on running.

I’m not sure what I should do from here. Should I be worried about some kind of virus? I also saw an application error in the event logs saying “faulting application RCPServ.exe”.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
